Tantric Yoga Workshop
With Deva
This Tantric Yoga Workshop is designed to light up your energy and raise your light frequency.
Tantric yoga is a type of Yoga practice that is aligned with the ancient, spiritual practice of Tantra, which originated in India and Tibet.
Tantra means "to weave" in Sanskrit, and classical tantra all about reaching spiritual enlightenment through connecting with your energy. This traditional understanding of tantra is aligned with the purpose of this Tantric Yoga workshop.
Tantric Yoga weaves together the different yoga techniques of yoga postures, mantra, visualisation, breathing and meditation. These techniques primarily focus on the cultivation and build-up of Kundalini Energy.
Kundalini Energy, known as Shakti, is the creative power and energy of the universe. Kundalini energy is lies dormant at the base of the spine, and one of the purposes of yoga is to awaken this energy and move it up through the subtle spine, activating the seven main energy centres, known as the Chakras, on the way.
Chakras are energy centres located in the subtle spine. There are seven main chakras, originating from the base of the spine up through the crown of the head. Each is associated with different aspects of our being.
Red Tantra and White Tantra
Tantra is greatly misunderstood in the West and is often associated with tantric sex. These sexual practices form a small part of tantra and are actually more accurately described as Neotantra.
White Tantra
Most of Tantra is White Tantra. This is largely a solitary spiritual practice involving asanas, breathing, mantra, meditation and visualisation. This Tantric Yoga workshop falls into the category of White Tantra.
Red Tantra
This is the lesser aspect of Tantra, where couples work consciously with sexual energy, Orgasmic energy is cultivated and ejaculation is withheld for prolonged periods of time, often by drawing energy upward from the lower chakras to the higher ones.
